Continuing Education & Post Licensing Information

For agents licensed before July 1, 2009: - Must have 24 continuing education hours for each renewal cycle. If licensed initially in 2008, will need to renew in 2009.
- At least 12 of the continuing education hours must be required. The remaining 12 can be either required or elective.
- If you received your initial license during the calendar year of 2008, your first renewal is November 30th, 2009.
For agents licensed after July 1, 2009: - Need 60 hours of postlicensing education during the first two renewal cycles.
- The state is still looking at the continuing education courses to determine which courses fall into these areas.
- The first renewal cycle you will need a minimum of six hours in each of the following areas:
- Agency
- Contracts
- Fiduciary duties / trust accounting / earnest money
- Business planning / etiquette (setting up a corporation or llc, customer service, etc)
- Ethics / professional liability (risk management, e&o insurance, etc)
- The second renewal cycle you will need a minimum of six hours in each of the following areas:
- Negotiation
- Real estate license law
- Technology (website development, social media, email, etc)
- Marketing / advertising (marketing strategies, fair housing as it applies to advertising, etc)
- Property Issues (inspections, environmental issues, property disclosures, etc)
GENERAL info: - No course can be used twice during the same renewal cycle

- Look at the calendar year for your renewal year and the previous year

Designed for group discussion to get students talking about how they think a court would see the circumstances before revealing court’s finding. A cross-section of several types of contracts are included. No test.

This class has had great reviews! Taught by SDSU-WRAC instructors, it includes relevant information for any agent working with clients who have, or would like to have, horses on small acreages. Land use planning, estimating stocking rates for small acreages, the cost of feeding horses, and weed laws are all covered.
