Q: How many hours can I take online?
A: All of them. It is important that you check the SD Real Estate Commission website to make sure they are approved before taking them (yes, all of mine are approved).
Q: What are the PL classes & do I need them?
A: People who first received their license after July 1, 2009 need two cycles of post licensing classes instead of CE.
Q: If I take a class which has approved hours in both PL 1 & PL 2, will I get credit for both periods?
A: No. You will only get credit for the hours which apply to your current renewal cycle.
Q: What topics are needed for the post licensing classes?
A: The first renewal cycle after first obtaining their license (post license period 1 or PL 1) they need a minimum of at least 6 hours in each of the following topics:

Agency,

Contracts,
-
Ethics /or Professional Liability,

Fiduciary/Trust Accounts/or Earnest Money

Business Planning /or Etiquette.
The second renewal cycle (post license period 2 or PL 2), they need a minimum of at least six hours in each of the following five topics:

Negotiation,

Real Estate License Law,

Technology,
-
Marketing /or Advertising,
-
Property Issues.

Environmental Issues in Your Real Estate Practice - 6 hour required CE (or PL period 2 - 6 hours property issues) - $59 -
